Placement opportunities

Learn from experienced staff

Our Student Placement Coordinator works directly with education and training providers to confirm whether placement opportunities are available for the dates required. We currently provide placements for:

  • Registered Nursing students
  • Enrolled Nursing students
  • ECA students

Orientation

Students attend an orientation on the Monday they commence their placement. Following orientation, students are allocated a buddy for their next shift.

Buddy support

Students are matched with a trained staff member working at the same level or in the same area they are studying. For example, an ECA student will be placed with an ECA.

The buddy provides guidance throughout the shift and plays an important role in supporting and monitoring the student’s progress.

Placement requirements

Students complete the checklist or placement program provided by their education or training provider.

A formal agreement must be in place between us and the provider before the placement can commence.

Weekly catch-up

Students attend a weekly catch-up on Friday to reflect on their placement, discuss their progress and raise any questions or concerns.

Location

Placement availability depends on the capacity of the selected site and the dates requested by the education or training provider.

Frequently Asked Questions

We currently provide placements for Registered Nursing, Enrolled Nursing and ECA students.
Students do not apply directly for placements. Your education or training provider must contact our Student Placement Coordinator to enquire about availability and arrange the placement.
Placement duration depends on the requirements set by your education or training provider and the availability of the selected site.
Yes. You will complete an orientation and be allocated a buddy who will provide guidance and support during your placement.
Your buddy will provide feedback on your progress, and you will complete the checklist or program supplied by your education or training provider.

A weekly catch-up is also held on Friday to discuss how your placement is progressing.

How to Arrange a Placement

Your education or training provider must contact us to enquire about placement availability.

Once availability has been confirmed, we will work directly with the provider to arrange the placement and ensure the required agreement is in place.
